Hi, I hope someone can give me some advice for my 8yr old grandaughter.
she seems to be allergic to every sun cream we have tried and we have tried loaRAB, all for allergic skin (all hypoallergenic) they all cause a hive like rash which is very itchy and sore, in the most severe case her face has swollen quite badly, I have been told that it is uncommon for a cream to cause this reaction. She is waiting for allergy testing at hospital, however, we go on holiday in July and will need sun protection. I would be greatfull for any suggestions and advice.

I don't know who told this was uncommon but they are wrong. Some people are allergic to sunscreens. You could check with a dermatologist for a brand that she might can use. It may be that she just can't use any. You'd just have to keep her out of the sun and away from the reflection from the sand - hat, long sleeves, pants...etc.
