Suncom merger....when will it be final???

Now that this has official approval from the FCC, when will it be final?? I want to transfer my AT$T number (the wife and I have consecutive numbers and have had them for 6-7 years so everyone has them and the 5 and 6 year old have them memorized). As it currently stands T-Mo has no native presence in my state, so they can't transfer my numbers just yet, so I am keeping service with AT$T and T-Mo (just forwarding the numbers from AT$T to T-MO). Would like to reduce costs and just get back to 2 numbers instead of 4. So does anyone know when I can get gthe transfer completed???

well it's approved like you said, and now it's time for the change, rebranding of stores, and converting customers over, i would assume by next year the ltest, maybe by fall this year. T-mobile hasn't released any official statement as to when it will be so this is all speculation as of now

According to T-Mobile insiders, rebranding should be complete by the end of the year. Yet, it'll be complete by the end of this month. It'll just take time for the rebranding, etc. Also, some SunCom call center workers have stated that their jobs will end June 2008.

Thanks for the responses, but I really don't care about rebranding, just being able to have my number transferred over and once they have control of SUnciom will be considered native in NC tio do so.

No actually the aquisition will be complete by June. The executive team just had an initiatives meeting in Dever last week. My MM came back with ALL kinds of juicy videos and info.. Im really looking forward to some new changes.. Not to mention... devices

Official news release. Merger has been officially completed, now the rebranding begins. Hopefully this means 8120 on T-Mobile soon.......

Man I was just about to post that. But you beat me to it. Haha. Great information in there. I'm going to see if I could possibly transfer up there. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

Actually probably not. Were launching the 8820 in march. The pearl 2 will come later. Suncom has an extremly small distribution center compared to t-mobile. Its goin to take at LEAST a month or two to get enough stock to launch nationally especially considering the demand. Trust me, it will be a bit later than sooner because of this. Suncom may have the phone but t-mobile has a much much higer volume demand than suncom, no way their inventory can supply that demand as is. Esp on a newly launched phone. You have to thing of product on the national scale, not just oh they have it so we will too, etc

This is great news for me. I travel to Puerto Rico several times a year. When using my phone down there during nights and weekends, I would use up my anytime minutes. Hopefully now it would be unlimited minutes during off peak times.
