i know this is a little early but, i am 13, i live in Washington. i intend to go to YMCA horse camp in the summer and it is a week long. Each person will have a horse to care for and ride that whole week (not bringing our own horses) I have been to camp before but it has always been either school or church camp and never more than 3 days. at home, i have a mom, a dad, a sister 7 years older than me, a sister 5 years older than me, and a sister 2 years younger than me. i have never been away from the sister that is 5 years older than me for more than 3 days, though I'm not worried about home sickness. I'm a tomboy who doesn't wear make-up, is extremely low maintenance, almost never cries, loves animals, isn't into boys (I'm still at the stage were all boys are stupid but that's probably from living in a house with my dad, my male dog, plus my female dog, mom, 3 sisters, 2 female cats, and 3 guinea pigs) i am an intermediate rider in both English and Western (never cantered/loped or galloped but have fallen many times and ridden bareback, which is more than i can say for some of my friends that jump, I'm into western sports) I'm looking for tips and extra packing advice. i am also a medium level insomniac. i don't know what the camp does/doesn't allow. I'll find out later. i am not very shy but am very quiet at first. i have a tight group of friends and we are all outcasts/rejects. i don't intend to make friends at camp. i intend to learn and have fun. my parents call my a loner because i love to go for walks alone or with my dog/cat/guinea pig. i sit on my own often, thinking or listening to music. there are 5 things i never leave the house without: chap stick, cell phone, mp3 player, 2 hairbands on my wrist (one for my hair, just in case, and one for my wrist because i have gotten so used to wearing them), and my ratty old seat shirt that i wear every day. serious answers only please.
here is my packing list so far (this doesn't include the things i will wear to the camp):

work boots
helmet
