Summer financial aid question?

In order to get financial aid for the summer you need to enroll in 9hrs.
Does this mean that for summer I you have to enroll in 9hr and summer II you have to enroll in 9 hr
or does it mean 9hours total for summer?
I'm planning to enroll in 11 hours for Summer II.
 
It also depends if you received financial aid in the fall and in the spring if you did then you don't get any in the summer. If you did go one semester or none then you qualify for financial aid if you are enrolled in 12 units that is considered full time.
