Suggestions for interesting freshwater fish?

I am starting a totally new tank ( I currently have two others running ) and it's 35 gals.

Any interesting suggestions for fish? I have had ballon mollys, blue gularis ( killi fish ), gold fish, shell dwellers, some cichlids.. looking forward to your suggestions :)
