I am looking to get into cycling sometime in the near future, and nobody that I know does this, so I cannot get a whole lot of personal information on it. I live in Hattiesburg, MS, and we have a nice trail near campus, and it makes cycling look even more enjoyable to me. I am looking to purchase a bike (new or used from a bike shop) in the 1000 to 1500 dollar range. I would like some opinions on a good starter bike, as I don't want to buy whatever the bike shop tries to sell me just because they say its good. I know they try to push Giant, Raleigh, and Trek, any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you.
