Suggestions for a new phone for my mom?

Hey guys.. my mom's Sony Ericsson z750a started to give her problems and she was eligible for an upgrade, so we started looking at phones.

After weeks of looking around, she finally decided on the Pantech Impact which would be a huge change since she was not used to a keyboard. She hates it though.. hard to talk on since its too thick, the outside phone controls are terrible and that external screen leaves you clueless as to whats going on.

She only uses her cell phone for talking and texting.. no internet. She does like the full keyboard though.

I hate how AT&T requires you to have a data plan with certain devices.. she was looking at my work blackberry bold and sort of liked that but it would be a waste to get on at&t with their minimum data plans.

So knowing all of this.. which phones would you recommend for her? Thanks.
 
My mom loves her Samsung Solstice phone.. it's a complete touch phone with full keyboard. It's simple to use and since it's a smart phone she does not have to sign up for a data plan. My mom texts and calls only and she has had no problem with it in the 6 months she has had it.

If you want to get around having to pay for a data plan you will have to get a really simple (keypad only) phone, or a smart phone.
