Hi,
A lil over a week ago I woke up with back pain, I ignored it for 2 days, then went to the Urgent Care (a fly by night place where I can go and get antibiotics when my Gen Drs closed-not in a drug store) and he gave me Soma & Tramadol and a script for Physical Therapy.

I tried the drugs for 2 days then finally made an appointment for Physical Therapy.

I went to Physical Therapy the next day and he laid me on a flat couch with heating pad under me and lifts under my knees.
When he tried to start stretching my back out by lifting up my knees I was in WAY too much pain and he told me to go to the VALID urgent care and get an XRAY.

It took me 10 minutes to get off that flat table!

I went to the valid Urgent Care and got xrays and the Dr told me I had SCOLIOSIS!

He gave me MORE drugs and told me to go see an Orthopedist.

I had had my gallbladder out 4 yrs ago and I had the xrays from that so I looked at them and compared them to the new xrays from 2 days ago.
My spine was straight four years ago!

Can you get SCOLIOSIS from sleeping in the same position for 8 years at night and lounging in that same position during the day?

Im really scared!

Whats going on?

that sounRAB rather unlikely. scoliosis usually develops in the teens and can get worse if you don't take care of yourself. I hate to ask this but have you gained a significant amount of weight in the past few years? My doc says that if i stay in shape and keep exercising my scoliosis will stay the same. I'm not sure why else this would happen.

that's really tough - the back pain makes it hard to lose weight and the weight probably makes the pain worse :(
how bad is the scoliosis?
