Same game with same settings, same computer, same RAM, CPU, and graphics. What else could it be?
I have 2GB of RAM
Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon XP 2800 which is 2.08 GHz
Integrated nVidia GeForce4 MX: 64 MB allocated video memory
Played Need Force Speed 3: Porsche Unleashed
I had previously played the game on highest settings, highest resolution and color quality. Game didn't lag at all. I then stopped playing for about a month. Upon returning, it worked fine one time I played the game, but upon returning a second time the game is extremely laggy (doesn't crash, but is very annoying and steering very difficult), despite several restarts. I have adjusted resolution to almost lowest setting and have decreased graphic settings significantly, showing a slight improvement in performance, but the game is still extremely slow.
I have checked my process list and there isn't anything there that should be using up memory. Same processes as always.
Any ideas of what could be causing the problem?
And please don't suggest a new video card, this is a recent problem and there must be a way I can solve it.
