Successful surgery

Hi. I want to share the news of my successful surgery. I am a 71 year old woman. I had severe acid reflux which led to Barrett

Thanks for sharing, zoogal. I'm nowhere near needing surgery (yet), but I enjoyed hearing your story. Sometimes this board is characterized by much doom and gloom about reflux, so it's nice to hear a success story once in a while.

Hi Zoogal,

I'm only in my 30's, but your symptoms sound a lot like mine used to be. I had severe "silent" reflux that no longer responded to treatment. The reflux caused a chronic cough and also flared my asthma which caused a chronic cough. I had surgery in October 2008. Immediately I noticed a difference. My symptoms were gone when I woke after surgery. I've had a return of cough this last winter, but I think it was mainly just classic asthma. Waiting for test results to confirm it isn't reflux. Anyway, I'd go through the surgery again in a heartbeat. My asthma had gotten so severe that it had become lifethreatening You are adding food back quicker than I did though. Please be careful with the meats and breaRAB. It is very uncomfortable to have food stuck above the wrap.

Take care,
