I had an operation in 2006 to remove a tumor from my esophagus. I spent 7 weeks in Addenbrookes hospital, Carabridge, England, 6 weeks of which I was in the Intensive care ward unable to breathe without the aid of a ventilator, unable to eat or speak. The operation was a complete success but for 4 years I have been getting severe reflux in the night at least twice a week. this reflux caused coughing for at least an hour on each occasion due to the acid getting into my resperatory tract. I was in the habit of taking one 40 mg gastro resistant tablet each morning after breakfast. I have now found that if I take my tablet in the evening instead I GET NO REFLUX IN THE NIGHT. It has been 6 weeks now since I had reflux. Perhaps other people suffering the same as I would like to try my "cure", please let me know how it goes.
