Thats one of the reasons while dub is better than sub.
another reason is that the Japanese language ain't match the "western" look of the anime characters. English was practically made for anime.
the only reason that anime is even sub in the first place is that it was made in japan and their first language is japanese. if english was their first langauge and japanese second they would have chosen english which would have been the better option.

I prefer subs. I've been watching subbed anime for the longest time, so it somewhat more natural for me to watch it. It also fits the anime much better. Dubs, ehh, they don't sound quite right, especially after you've watched the subbed anime!
