date. What do I do? I am a victim and witness in an assault case. I have been subpoena'd but the court date is during a vacation to the carribean with over 20 family members from across north america and i don't want to miss it. I don't remember anything from the assault....i just woke up in the hospital. Therefore it is useless for me to be a witness. Is there anything I can do to go on my vacation and not get issued a material witness warrant. I think that this is bullshit....I was the victim and was jumped and beaten so bad I had to go to the hospital. I have moved on in my life and think that, as the victim, why should I have to miss my family vacation and the fun i should be having to testify about a night i remember nothing from and the fact that an agreement will probably be reached the day before the court date anyway. Please help!!
