Not sure what to do. I have two males, named Gabriel and Angel. They are both two years old and have been together for a year. Gabriel is submissive, Angel is dominant. Recently, I got a new guinea pig, a six week old named Mosley, male. Angel and Mosley get along well, because Mosley is by default submissive to the older, bigger male. Angel is even protective. But, Gabriel freaks out around the baby, trying to fight Angel over him. It's like he thinks Mosley is a girl even though we checked, and he is a boy. It got too violent today and now the boys are separated. Only Angel is hurt in all this. I need to know what happened. Why is Gabriel acting this way towards Angel? Angel isn't starting any fights, he is just defending himself. Will they be able to ever interact again after today? What do I do?
I put Mosley in his own little cage and put the other two back together to see if it helped, but Gabriel tried to attack Angel again. Gabriel is in my lap now , and I am shocked he did this. He is usually so sweet, like right now. He is letting me love on him and hold him. I am leaving Angel alone so he can rest a bit, though I am checking him and petting him frequently. Mosley is in his hut, scared I think. I would put him with Angel, but Angel is injured right now. What caused my sweetest guinea pig to become so mean?
