Subframe Help?

I recently hit an exposed manhole with my kia spectra going about 25 miles an hour with my driver side front tire. It threw the alignment way off and messed up the tire. I took it to a shop and got new tires and an alignment, but was told my front subframe had a dent in it. The mechanic told me it would be safe to drive, but I am questioning this. I am going to try to bring it to the dealer, but I would like to know what I am in for. Replacing a subframe sounds like a massive job if this is necessary. If it is just a small dent, will it be something I even need to worry about? Or, if something needs to be done, is there a simple repair?

Its seemed fine driving it so far and the alignment seems like it is back to normal.
Oh and its cool that you wouldn't recommend a Kia... but that is the car that I have, and it would be very difficult for me to just go out and get a new car as I am but a poor college student.

ahh thats a typical problem with new vehicles to save weight they made the body part of the chassie with subframes holding the suspension and drivetrain to the main passenger area. if it is bent it can be straightened but will be weaker and replacing shoot on a kia better to buy a new car. and if the frame is bent there is no way the alignment shop could of done a proper alignment.
 
the dealer can't fix a bent subframe.
Take it to a body/frame repair shop specializing in unibody cars (which is just about all cars these days) and have them tell you how bad or not bad it is.
