Subcision or Saline injections

Hi everyone...
i have some acne scars on my chin..either side of my chin, not the middle part from previous acne/cysts....no one really notices it but me...but it is depressed a bit and causes shadows on my face....i reallllly hate them..
so..i went to a new dermatologist and he suggested subcision...the word immediately scared me..sounded pretty serious..
anyways, he told me that subcision is just salt water that they inject under the scar to create more collagen i think.... since its just salt water he said that there isnt any risks...all he said was that it could cause some bruising for a couple days to a week and possible swelling....
but i have done some research and have found that salt water injections are called saline injections...so now im confused about subcision and saline...are they different procedures?
also, has anyone had this done before? im REALLY nervous because my worst fear is that it was make things worse...
anyone??
 
I would run like heck in the opposite direction. If this was your usual derm that you have been seeing for a while, that's one thing. You say this one is new which scares me.

I have had laser treatments which create collagen and build up scars. I've had that for acne scars and also for stretch marks. I am not a doctor, but it's hard to imagine getting the same effect from salt water.
