stupid car won't start again.please help?

car won't start even if I try jumping it. it will start p but then not even a second later it will shut down again. so, i guess i need a new battery?and how much would it cost? by the way the car is 10 years old.
 
if you jumped it it would start and die again after the battery was drained. it's usually not that fast though. i would definitely check your fuel lines or anything to do with your fuel system. you could turn your key to the on position without starting it and listen to see if your fuel pump is running. you'll hear a low humming noise if it is.
 
Is your car real new with computer? Have a computer diagnostic done. If older and no computer then your car doesn't shut down because of the battery because the alternator is running the car when the car is running, and the alternator charges the battery back up. You probably need Battery and Alternator (Alternators usually have a voltage regulator within them).
 
new battery £25 £45 pounds but check your batt terminals first make sure they are clean pour boiling water over the terminals remove all traces of acid remove terminals and coat the connections with vaseline or Greece
