Please no AT&T network bashing and fan boy antics. I'm just looking for different perspectives on choices i am looking into. So, Ive been a fan of smartphones since the Iphone was first released.
One of the major factors in my decision to give up on the Iphone family is the recent update has caused my 3g to become very sluggish and worthless at best. It takes almost a full minute and half just to begin texting. Loading up my emails and safari web browser is even worse. Sometimes I have to reboot the phone just to use it normally. I even contemplated upgrading to the Iphone 4. To be honest Im not that impressed. The screen is awesome and the speed is better but thats it. No customization is allowed without 'jail-breaking' the phone.
So with my frustration in Apple's phone lineup and the recent Android invasion Ive been playing around with a few of the android powered phones that are offered on AT&T and other cellular networks. Not to be drawn in by the hype but I am very impressed.
Since I am with AT&T my only choices for the time being are the HTC Aria and the Samsung captivate. I like both but HTC seems to have a better grasp on the touch screen interface than Samsung and most others. So now to the question/debate.
If I stayed with AT&T would the Aria be a good choice? Even if the phone is physically smaller and sporting the lowest processor of the android family? Would an ex Iphone supporter be pleased with the features of the Aria? Is it worth sticking with AT&T in hopes better Android phones appear or should I drop the company and go with Verizon or sprint? I'm really persistent on ditching the Iphone for better of the Android powered phones.
Whats your thoughts and opinions. Id like to stick with AT&T since I get a company discount but willing to switch in effort to get Android fever. LOL Thanks.
