This year I am going to be studying Dentistry at UQ in Brisbane and I'm looking for a living place that is closest to where I am going to be attending my classes. However, upon looking up the locations of all the buildings associated, I'm a little confused and would like some help.
The School of Dentistry is not at the St. Lucia campus of UQ, and is on its own at 200 Turbot St. However when I checked my online timetable for the courses I enrolled in, the buildings for my classes were at MacGregor Building, Hawken Engineering Building, Chemistry Building, Sir James Foots Building and Abel Smith Lecture Theatre which was at the St. Lucia campus. I have currently found accommodation at a UniLodge at 108 Margaret St, but it's possible that I may move to a better place as the UniLodge is very close to the School of Dentistry, but not to those previously listed buildings.
As I am studying Dentistry, I expected that I would be close to the School of Dentistry. I'm surprised that my classes and the School is at different locations. What's furthermore confusing is that the orientation for students studying my course is located at the School of Dentistry, and not St Lucia campus.
Help, someone, please? Should I be staying near St Lucia or near the School of Dentistry? If anyone knows the ins and outs of the system, please clarify. Thanks in advance!
