I took last semester off from school, so I used up my 6-months of not having to pay back my student loans. I received my first bill this month (due on January 1st, 2011), but I am enrolled full-time for Spring semester (starting next month). I logged onto my account and requested a deferment for being enrolled in school, but now I am waiting for the request to be processed.
If I do not make the payment that is due on January 1st, will any non-payment information sent to the credit bureaus be cleared once the request for deferment gets processed?

MrAUDU: I cannot contact my school's financial aid office because they are closed for the Holidays. Thanks for the advice though!
