Student loan default?

I have a student loan that is almost ready to default. I sent in the paperwork to get a deferment. Sallie Mae says that a claim has already been applied to the loan and they are just waiting for the gaurantee to purchase it. Unless I make a payment to keep this from happening my loan will go into default.

I can't afford the $330 payment that they are requesting. Is there anything else that I can do?
