So this new track season my coach has been focusing on technique more than last year. One new warmup technique exercise involves marching with hands on hips for 10m while pressing the ground directly below you. Then you do the same thing for the next 10m but at a slow jog(ish) pace. Then for the last 20m we break into a run with normal arm use. With the muscle memory from the first 20m the strides when running were larger than I took last season. I feel like it felt like a more effective way to run than I did last season
Last season I was new to track and I had teouble with keeping low out of the bocks and I think my steps were too small.
So basically how far should your steps be apart? I hear its suppsed to be "just a little bit smaller than a bounding run" is this correct?
