Waiting for my baby girl!

Yesterday at my OB appointment (around 4pm) I was 2.5 cm dilated. He decided to give me a stretch and sweep which put me at 3/3.5 cm. I had my bloody show about 5-6 hours later. I had been having contractions for a few days prior to this, but it all just stopped when I got the S&S done. I had some cramping after I got it done for about an hour but that was it.
My OB said that the effect of the stretch and sweep only lasts for 24 hours so if I don't go into labour in about 4 hours I guess it didn't work.
Is there anything I can do to help it along? At 3/3.5cm will I possibly still have to wait weeks to go into labour?
Any advice or personal experiences are much appreciated!
