Stress fractures/shinsplints in the military?

I am considering career in the military , however I have a history of stressfractures and shinsplints? While I do not feel this would disqualify me from enlisting, I feel like it would become a REALLY big problem in basic training. I havent done any running in a long time due to the fact that usually about 2 weeks into a running program the splints return and cause excruciating pain and I then stop for fear of causing a stress fracture. I developed a stress fracture in high school while playing football a sport that does not really require heavy/continuous running, if we would ever run long distance it would be on grass not even on denser surface. My splint problem led me to not be able to become a runner in track & field, I actually ended up becoming a thrower for obvious reasons. So my question is, if I were to enlist and my splints were to return in basic and lead to fracture would it cause them to medically discharge me? I have no idea what causes the splints, but ever since my first fracture (right leg) Ive noticed my right leg is the one that actually has more problems, at times my left leg doesnt even get splints. I just need advice on figuring out the problem really and if It would affect a future military career?

By the way, I am flat footed, I use proper running uses, ice my legs, etc. Ive done everything possible, but If by any chance you may have a solution , it would be gladly appreciated.
