Strep throat then a bad cough!!!

Last monday 6-15-09 I had a really bad sore throat (felt like I was swallowing knives). Tuesday 6-16-09 I went to the doctor. He did a throat culture for strep throat. Also the nurse gave me an antibiotic in my right hip which hurt like crap. The doctor also gave me a z-pack to take. So Friday 6-19-09 the doctor's office called and said I have Strep Throat and I just finished taking my z-pack. Now I have a bad cough that will NOT go away.

What should I do now?
 
is your throat still sore or is it just the cough now? I can sympathize, I had strep and a severe cough on top of each other years ago and it was not fun. If your throat is feeling better and you just have the cough, give it some time. If your throat is still bothering you, you may want to check back with the doctor to be safe. Either they will see if it's still infected or at least they can give you some good cough meds to help ease the discomfort.
