street racing FAST Cars help LEARNING BASICS?

Well i want to learn about the different parts of cars so when you pop the hood you know whats going on, what parts in the car make it faster? im 16, and i just want to learn like how everything works for some odd reason <.< i dont no what i would do? do i search engine and memorize all the different parts that make up the engine? but than i wouldnt no if you can make the engine faster and such, or if all v8 engines are the same as one another? any IDEA ON WHERE TO START??!?!? i have no clue,
what engines do like SUPRAS and such have? and all nissan skylines and the fast imported cars
what parts make it faster, is there any websites at all?
 
Supras and Skylines are slow stock. They can be made fast, but they are slow off the factory line. Street racing is not the way to do it. If you want to race, go to a track. Go to your local drag strip and just watch and learn. Pay attention to what people are doing. Ask questions. Tell them you don't know much and are just trying to learn.

You can also go to www.howstuffworks.com and just type in cars and go from there.

The best way to learn is through hands on experience.
