Strangest Movie Theater Experience

When I saw Pearl Harbor in the theater an older woman was seated to my left. During the movie I noticed out of the corner of my eye that something white kept moving around on her lap. I looked over to see that she had brought her DOG to the movie and it was in her purse! Amazingly, the dog made less noise than the average moviegoer. :D

Please share your stories. :)

when i was a student I went to see *the exorcist* on at the lates in glasgow. its a little cinema down a lane.

anyway, there we all were in the queue when a car came tearing down the lane - everyone managed to get out of the way except one poor bloke - basically the car had to do a u-turn to get back out, and this bloke came between the car and a wall - basically the car got smashed, and the guys legs must have just been completely shattered as he just collapsed to the ground.

and then there was fight in the cinema behind us as well.

quite eventful, but the image of the guy collapsing was remains one of the most awful things i've seen.

At the age of 12 I was involved in a Star Wars Riot

In the 1970s the idea of credit-card bookings for Cinema Tickets was unknown. When a big blockbuster - such as Jaws - went on release people would just turn up at the cinema a couple hours early and join the queue that streched round the block - a bit like those you get for January sales. It was the only way to get a ticket., obviously a frustrating experience.

Anyway, those of a certain age will remember that when Star Wars came out in 1977, it was surrounded by a level of hype never seen before or since, It was touted as the Greatest Movie of All Time and movie-goers were literally beseiging cinemas and fighting each other for a seat.

Me and my mates turned up outside the Gaumont in Birmingham city centre three hours early. Instead of an orderly queue there was simply a massive crowd.

When the doors opened, pandemonium broke out as everyone
tried to push to the front. Grown men and women were suddenly fighting each other like animals just to see a film it was ridiculous. Some bloke grabbed my little brother (aged 9) by the neck and pushed him to the floor - it was really scary.

My experience was not unusual and was repeated outside cinemas the length of the land.

On the wall of the Taunton ODEON film center, they have a sigh with their typical rules, fire drills, no smoking and fines info. The last rule at the bottom is a 'No Dogs Except Guid Dogs' :)

I found this funny as i dont know of any blind people who go to the movies....... :D

I Was @ The Cinema About 3 Weeks Ago and this guy had a tripod and his Video Camera taping the flipping flim i was like HuH How cant u get done for that but he did and walked out unnoticed ??

i thought it was very strange but funny at the same time and about 3 days later the same film came online and it was a CAM
(me thinks it might of been that same guy)

btw the film was A Man Apart

nothing really interesting happened...only thing i can think of is they lost the film somehow halfway through..and it took about 15 minites for em to fix it!

Once the electricity went out when I was seeing a movie and stayed out for several minutes. It was a big UCI cinema but was pretty quiet. The backup lighting came on so we weren't in the dark.

Anyway it came back on after 5 minutes and they restarted the film from about 5 mins before the interruption.

Everyone took it pretty well, no demand for refunRAB etc! A few kiRAB throwing popcorn at the screen but that was it. :D

I was watching Billy Elliot and near the end of the film (when Billy got the reply from the ballet school), when part of the cinema ceiling suddenly collapsed and water came pouring down. It was bit like I was in Titanic ! Luckily no one was near the collapsed celling, so no one got hurt or wet. Anyway we were ushered out of the cinema and given a voucher for to watch another film, which was cool as I had watched virtually all of Billy Elliot. :D
