so i'm working on this '96 cav 2.2 I4. it's a salvage piece-meal vehicle bought from a wrecking yard about four years ago. has been on the road with no issues, save a starternoid.
here's the issue,
i pulled all four plugs. it's a wide gap on these. 060. but these were way out there. like if you just barely bent your finger. #2 was pointed straight down at the piston.
you can't get a gap wrong that far. so i'm thinking some one did this on purpose?

for what purpose or what issue might some one be trying to fix or cover up?
i'm an old fart. never seen or heard of this.
BTW it's not my car.
and why in heckle would they put the coil packs behind the motor between the firewall and below the intake. that's sick.. rhetorical.....
