I just bought a 2001 Suzuki Esteem as basically a junk car to keep from putting a lot of miles on my newer car. It has over 169000 miles. It runs great, but I get a strange noise that sounds like maybe a problem with the power steering when I turn the steering wheel. The noise occurs most often when the engine is cold and rarely when it has warmed up. Could it mean the power steering is about to go out, and if it does will it matter since I really don't need power steering on such a small car?
