I posted on this before about this problem but it seemed to go away for a week or so. I drive a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 145,000 miles. I replaced the driver side CV axle after the outer boot ripped. Not more then 2 weeks later the sound came back. I figured it was the CV again so I pulled it out and found no tears. The sound only happens when I accelerate and sounds like a flat tire. Doesnt seem to go faster just louder. Could i have damaged something from removing it? Maybe the area where its connected to the transmission? Or is something else to blame? I was told maybe the Trans mount or a wheel bearing? Im not too sure and nothing seems wrong visually.
When I replace the CV the first time I did so because of the same sound, When I changed it out the sound went away from a week or so. Now its back.
I changed my stock springs to Tein Stechs which lowered it about 2.8 and the front tires tuck about 10mm. Im also on Koni Yellow adjustable struts.
