Ok, this happend completely out of the blue.
The problem is as following:
I connect the handsfree, press the handsfree button. The beep I get is very weak, almost inaudible. I say MP3, MP3 players starts up.
Music sounds a bit strange, like coming from a barrel. Voice frequences are almost cut out (I remember there was a karaoke plugin for Winamp elliminating voice from the music and making it sound like this), words barely audible/recognizable. Orchestration is closer to what should be.

Tried a turn off/on, same problem. Recharged battery, same problem.

A few tracks sound like complete gibberish, only beeps and blops, but that's only a few (less than 10%).

Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else experienced this?

I don't know whether to laugh or be angry. Did nothing to the phone, in the morning it was working fine, in the evening it has these symptoms.

Oh, and have already tried pulling on the handsfree cable to check for any loose connections. Nothing changes.

Any help would be certainly be most welcome.

Kind regards,
Andrei

Yes this happend to me when I coppied a mp3 file on my mmc. But I didnt know that the mp3 was codded in 256kbps. I changes it and now is all ok.

It's not a problem of mp3 encoding. The same files played normally in the morning, but sounded distorted in the evening.

UPDATE:
It appears to be the hands free that does it. Tried my handsfree in one of my friends' phone, and reproduced the problem. Now, does anyone know what might be wrong with it?
