So I have done a lot of writing and have a graduate degree, but I came across this weird plural/singular situation that has me stumped. I say it's one way; my boss says it's the other. Rather than try to explain it, I'll just demonstrate.
Example sentences: From the hall you can enter door 1, 2 or 3. OR From the hall you can enter doors 1, 2, or 3.
Anecdotal answers are great, but if you can cite a source (so i can prove my boss or myself wrong) even better!
