Just wondering if somebody else has experienced these symptoms with GERD. I've been diagnosed with reflux oesophagitis after an endoscopy but I've been having a sore throat everyday for 6months the sore throat is on and off throughout the day. I don't get heartburn because I'm taking 2x a day omeprazole. Anyway I've had no relief from my sore throat and I get what I think is non acidic reflux but the weird thing is that I have a smell coming from my throat that only I can detect which smells kind of like off milk sometimes it's stronger than othertimes but seems to always be there. Could this be like a milk intolerance thing or is that what stomach juices smell like. Hope somebody can help or give me a clue to what it could be. I go to the doctors next week but it's always on my mind. Hope to hear from someone haha.

My suggestion would be to cut dairy out of your diet for a month and see what happens. I was on PPI's for 9 years until my current doctor told me to quit eating dairy products- turned out I was allergic to dairy. Not intolerant, but actually allergic. No more dairy, and now no more acid reflux. I'm off the meRAB, after 9 years. I love it.

Ok, thanks for the reply. Did you have any sore throat with it or was it just reflux? I'm going to try cutting out dairy but it's hard haha. Glad to here your off ppi's...... Wish I was lol.

Just reflux but it would wake me up in the middle of the night coughing because the acid would creep up into my throat and then I'd start coughing.

I agree that quitting dairy is hard. Initially I really was bummed out and didn't think I could do it. Now it's pretty easy. Plus you might not have to cut out ALL dairy. I don't drink milk or eat yogurt or sour cream but I do occasionally have small amounts of cheese. I know I overdid it if I reflux that night, LOL. Then I just shun all dairy for a while and I'm good again.
