Hello, I have a 1997 Daewoo lanos, and probably for the past 1.5 years or 2 at most its been making this strange noise I cant really explain it, its this short repetitive sound thats always there in the backround, like a winding sound but not really its not even a squeal its just strange sound very noticable when you idle and when you open the windows as you drive, what could it be?, the car had its timing belt changed probably 30,000km ago, has regular services, but it does have an oil leak which causes the oil to burn up as its dripping on the exhaust and smell, also when you start the car sometimes, not always but probably 1 out of 10 or 15 starts there is a cloud of black smoke that comes out and then nothing else, when the car is going there is no smoke whats so ever, only on a very cold morning when the engine is cold you get the typical white stuff, but generally never, and there dosent seem to be any loss of power whats so ever, neither does the noise get louder, it just seems to be there what could it be?
