For as long as I can remember I've had a small, symmetrical circle (about the width of a large pea) on the tops of each of my feet, just a little after the bend where my leg meets my foot. The skin is darker and they are raised and feel rough, almost like a callus. I can't be certain but they seem to vary from really noticeable to not noticeable at all, but that could just be me being paranoid! They are hard underneath - I can't tell if this is some sort of tissue build up/scarring or something else - I used to think it was perhaps where a bone was poking through, but when I feel my friends' feet it's just flat bone rather than a bone end or pokey bit!
Although I described them a little like a callus, I don't think they are - for starters I can't think of anything at all that could cause them in that location - I don't have any shoes that rub there, and nor do I wear stiff jeans or trousers with hems that could be rubbing them.
They don't cause me any pain unless I kneel down and they rub on the floor, but it's not like
I do that much anyway. There's no need for me to go and waste a doctor's time with something that doesn't cause much discomfort, but I'm still very curious as to what they could be!
Can anyone shed some light on them?
