Has anybody using EvDo noticed that web and MMS have not been working since yesterday?
Get this, I called Cricket to tell them my service was not working, and they couldn't figure it out. So I started thinking, "Did they blacklist me??" They kept telling me to turn the phone off, on again, and *228. I'm thinking, "Hell, no, I've got PRL 1050 on there and it'll just screw it up." But nothing else I did worked, so I gave in and did an OTA. I ended up getting PRL 1004, which still enabled EvDo, but I still got no WAP or MMS service. Finally, I got fed up and loaded in 1040, which dumped me back down to 1x but worked like a charm. Strange, that 1040 would work and nothing else would. I guess it affected EvDo, too.
So anyway, I was just told by a rep (who KNEW what I meant when I mentioned PRL 1004 and 1040! WOW!!) that they were using 1004 temporarily in an effort to alleviate server traffic while they fixed their network, though he said that it really didn't work well, even at full signal strength. We're all supposed to receive a message in about 6 or 7 hours to notify us that the network is up again and that they apologize for the outages, blah blah blah.
