Strange computer happenings. I would like to know if anyone has encountered this?

Just recently, my computer has been doing something strange. I should say my monitor is. Whenever I install or uninstall a program, or even do a program update, the monitor will not come on after a reboot. The light just flashes green. I have a Viewsonic VX922 and a NVIDIA GT8500 video card. The only solution (short term) I have found is to kill all power to my PC (unplug/turn power off). Then the monitor (or video card) works fine. This also happens when I try to play a game like Warcraft (not online) which wants to change the screen. It then does the flashing green light with no picture also. Can anyone help me? Is my video card dying?

It's possibly the video card, but check the basics first: make sure the monitor cable is plugged in tightly, make sure the video card and memory sticks are seated properly, and hook the monitor with that cable to another computer to test it.

Eliminating the cheap stuff first keep you from spending big buck unnecessarily.

Good luck.

May be ur monitor not working . get a check up of it.

or the plug of electricity does not supply enough power to run properly

your right it does sound like the monitor or the graphics card, try the monitor w/ a diffrent computer, try the computer with a diffrent mointor, or try only unplugging 1 of them and then trying it and seeing which one fixes it.
