Hello everyone! I have a question to ask. I have the strangest thing happening. Everytime I sneeze or cough I get a large area of pain in the center of my back. It is very intense but pretty quick, It is gone within 5 secs or so after the sneeze. Very strange!! I was dig with fibro back in Nov but never had that issue before?? I still wonder if the dig of fibro is wrong and if I don't have issues with my back/neck area. I also experience tinkling and pins and needles all over my body but more in my hanRAB and feet. Any thought would be good. I hope everyone else is good!!!

Hello and welcome, jon...Have you ever had any x-rays or a MRI done on your spine? If so, what were the findings? Please keep us all updated about your condition.

No, I have not had anything like that done. My GP sent me to a neuro and he said that there is nothing wrong with me and that I had anxiety and that was causing my shooting nerve pain and pins and needles that I feel. I told him I disagree! I have alot of problems with my muscles- weak, feels like knots all over in diffrent spots. Can that also be a sign that I hurt my back? I had 3 really painfull falls within a year and half before I started having these issues. I have been thinking about asking for a MRI. I had to change doc 3 times before this one (who thinks I have fibro) because i was treated like dirt. You know "you are just a over stressed mom who can't handle" type deal !! Frustrating!!!!!!!! Thanks for your reply!!

Jon, I really commend you for standing up for your health! Only you truly know when something is wrong with your body. Unfortunately, some of the doctors in practice don't want to thoroughly listen to a patient's condition but instead put a quick "label" on the problem and send them on their way! I truly believe that you need a MRI done to rule out any disc problems...I, too, disagree with my neurosurgeon (who I seen for the first time on Tuesday), and it seemed that my general physician thought I needed more done and talked about sending me to a neurologist. My neurosurgeon quickly labeled me with degenerative disc disease and told me it was spreading to other areas of my spine, which is now causing severe pain and migraines from my cervical spine. I haven't had a MRI done on my cervical spine yet (only two x-rays, which showed severe muscle spasms and the doctor that read my x-rays ordered two chest x-rays for some reason). Please don't give up on your health...stand up for what you believe you need, in order to get better! Please keep us all updated about your condition!

I also say get another opinion and you should probably get an MRI done. The pain/symptoms you describe sure sounRAB typical to me of disc herniation or some other spinal nerve compression. Especially when it hurts when you cough/sneeze/laugh. Plus with the pins&needles and nurabness, those are more symptoms of compression. Of course im not a doc & cant diagnose you, just stating from my own experience & research. I do know that compression in the cervical spine (upper) can cause upper & lower body symptoms (such as in the arms, hanRAB, and legs. When you have injury in your spine (such as compression caused by herniation or something else), it can also cause surrounding muscles to spasm, which hurts and aches. When you were diagnosed w/ Fibro, did they find those tender points all over your body? Or was it more around your back/neck areas?
