storm on Tmo

Does anyone know if the storm will be able to be put on tmo? I read online that after 60 days, Verizon will unlock it for free and you will be able to put it on any network. Is this true? Will it work for T-mobile?
 
I watched a vid on You Tube where I did see a place for a sim card. I guess because it is a world phone it has both CDMA / GSM.

Verizon might unlock it, but I haven't read anything like that.

But don't forget there is still the GSM model Storm that still needs to be released, so you could wait for that.

I'm not geting the Storm I am just reading up on it.

I'm leaning more towards the Bold. If I try out the Bold and still don't like it well...Javelin here I come!
 
What I know is that the Storm 9530, will not work on Tmo EDGE network. You will get the GSM part to make calls but no data.

The Storm 9500, is a GSM and will work on Tmo EDGE network. Problem is that the 9500 is provided by Vodafone; which is a European provider. So if you can get that model and unlock you should be good to go.

If you know where to get one, point to that direction...LOL
 
Ok so I have a couple of questions. Hoping someone can help. Can you still update the Storm OS when unlocked and using T-Mobile? Does the Storm do an OS update OTA or can it still be updated through DM or either one? Also, what precisely in the Storm or any other BB for that matter determines the frequency? Is it hardware, software, or both? Does anybody know? ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
 
Actually one more question. If I buy a Storm, unlock it, and use with TMO network and decide later on to switch to Verizon, is there any limitations or drawbacks? via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
 
well there is a gsm version being old overseas, and there are two more versions of the storm being developed probably gsm versions for the u.s one for tmobile to support the hotspot service and the myfaves. the sim card port on the verizon wireless device won't work from what my buddies from verizon is telling me. i do believe verizon has a 6 month exclusive deal on the device so about may/june we will get it
 
Can the Verizon Storm be unlocked for T-Mobile? It is my understanding that it has both radios, but GSM is what needs to be unlocked. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
