My store's ceiling has been leaking for the past 3 month, after many emails and phone calls back and forth between the landlord. They've finally set a date to fix the roof. The roof leak was caused by an old, unused hvac unit. They will need to remove the hvac unit before repair the roof. Finally, a hvac company came and remove the unti, however, there was a strong storm last night. And my ceiling collapsed when I got to my store this morning! I am in shock and took pictures of the damage, my merchandise are in water, my cookware are in water. My questions is, Can I ask for any kind of compensation ? What should I do now? What if the landlord refuse?
