Stopped taking Ativan

I was prescribed 0.5mg of Ativan about 3 weeks ago for panic attacks and I was having the attacks daily so I took 1 Ativan a day since then.
I don't want to keep taking this drug anymore so I haven't taken any in about 36 hours. I am feeling a bit anxious and had trouble sleeping last night - my main concern is am I at risk of suffering seizures now because I stopped?

If a person doesn't taper properly off of Ativan, seizures are inevitable. You were taking a very low dose, once a day. I don't think you're at risk, however call your doctor's office and clarify with your physician (just in case).

shes right, no mater what talk to a doc, just so you will know the signs to look out for, i have had one- really scary for me! good job BTW!
 
I don't know the equivalencies between xanax and ativan, but I had two grand mal seizures from stopping only 1 mg of xanax daily for about a month. Some people have lower seizure thresholRAB than others, so while someone may not have a seizure until coming off of 6 mg of ativan daily, other people may have some from taking much less. Talk to your doctor about a taper plan just to be safe, though you're probably alright.

I haven't taken any since Monday morning, so far I'm ok (just feeling like I did before I started taking it). My doctor is very tough to reach so I was a bit worried but she told me she didn't think I had anything to worry about; pharmacist agreed as well. I hope they're right.

One more question, if I was going to develop withdrawal symptoms when could that happen - or am I pretty much past that point?
 
sounRAB like you are past that point, not everyone has wd's. i know people who took truck loaRAB of drug (like me) and walked away with not much trouble, i on the other hand go through pure hell when tapering off a med. we are all built a bit different. i think your home-free my dear!
