Hello everyone I am new to the boards! My name is Kelly and I am 22 from Georgia. I just have a couple questions about a possible stomach virus/flu that my fiance has came down with. It all started early this morning, when he woke up sweating with a fever and had to get up out of bed and run to the bathroom. This was around 4 AM, and he continued to be sick (throwing up once every half hour about ten times all together and diarhea at the same time). After the vomiting stopped, I went to work and he stayed home and rested. I called and checked on him a few times all through the day, and he said that he had stopped throwing up all together (or so it seemed) but still had a fever and diarhea. I got home from work and he was sleeping, said he hadn't thrown up in 8+ hours and was feeling much better, then all of a sudden, he started throwing up again and his fever is 102.2 He is now just throwing up bile and dry heaving, having diarhea at the same time. I'm thinking maybe this is food poisoning from something he might of ate (he ate at KFC yesterday) and not a stomach virus at all. My friends mother who is a nurse said that if it was a stomach flu then I would be showing symptoms as well, and I am feeling fine. I didn't know that you could have a fever with food poisoning though. If you could reply I would appriciate it! How do I get his fever down? How do I keep him hyderated? If this is food poisoning, how long will it last? What about the stomach flu? Please help
