The boys' bikes were stolen from our yard. It was a targeted incident. The bikes were on the other side of the house, barely seen. Other items that could have been (and easily stolen) were left. I have an idea of 2 kids that have done it. We did not record serial numbers at time of purchase/gift. Anyway, low and behold, one of the kids has a new spray painted bike, in which the frame matches the description of the frame of ours. He has 2 mis-matched wheels...one looks like his and the other looks like the wheel from our bikes. His friend, who lives up the street from us (as they both are in our neighborhood), has his 'normal' same bike, but has 2 mis-matched wheels also, which one of them looks like ours. It seems convenient for them to 'disguise' and part-out the bikes so as to not be riding the 'same' bike as ours. I have made police reports, but to no avail. What can I do, it seems suspicious enough, but cannot 'prove' that they are ours, which I know they are. How do I go about pressing charges or getting somewhere with this. The value btw the 2 bikes is roughly 300+ dollars. I want something done!!!! I can't stand to see them 'get away' with what they have done. We live in TX. Please help with guidance!!!!!!
