Stolen airbags in used car- bigger problem to look out for?

I found a 2004 Nissan Sentra for sale with 16,000 miles for olnly $6000! I am set to look at it tomorrow. The car lot says the only thing wrong with the car is the airbags were stolen out of the car, but everything else in the car is fine: mechanics are fine, no rust, no damage to door locks, interior of the car looks like nothing was disturbed.

Obviously, this is a HUGE red flag, though. Anything else I should look out for when I go to look at the car? Are stolen airbags asign something else is wrong with the car? Flood damage or underlying electrical problem?

I intend to have a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection if I like the car.
 
well that is a big problem and has been for a while, usually crews will hit dealerships after hours and take the precious airbag units as they are a premium to body shops. I would get a carfax, no airbags could be a sign they had been deployed and usually means a salvage title. As long as you get the car checked out by a qualified mechanic or dealer you will be fine, even if salvage title it can be a great car. I just bought a 07 versa salvaged, it was rebuilt with factory parts, the dealer even said it was done perfect, they couldn't tell until I told them. So until you do your due diligence upfront, buyer beware.
 
The red flag should be why they weren't replaced?

It's dangerous and also against the law.

I would pass on it and get a brand new one. I've seen new '09 for $9k or so.
