Still trying to fix the car whats next?

it gave up while travelling along at 50,nearest thing to explain it is how it feels when running out of fuel,loss of power started up again briefly then died again towed home and has not started since. The battery is reading 12.53 so that's fine used a circuit tester on starter motor again fine then took out spark plug to test for a spark ....no spark......but plenty of fuel as it was spaying out from the spark plug cavity! So what steps shall i take next in my attempt to rectify the problem.P.S. I can;t bring myself to pay£50 for a 2 minute diagnostic readout.
Its a 95 vw sharan 2.0l
 
what make and model of car is it?
what size engine. getting fuel but no spark sounds like an ignition module problem?
 
You haven't said what make and model this car is. However if there is no spark, this is an ignition problem. It could be your ignition module or coil. It might be worth replacing all the spark plugs and HT leads. Also if fitted distibutor cap and rotor arm. Also you said that there is fuel coming out of the spark plug holes. You have flooded the engine. Take all the plugs out and leave it for a few hours for the petrol to evaporate. Before trying to start it again.
 
No spark at plug, is there a spark at end of plug lead. If no it all depends on what type of car and how old. Older type of car, condenser, coil, rotor arm, cracked distributor cap.
New one anything from ignition pack to wire on flywheel sensor. Try adding type of vehicle year and anything else you know. If you can get diagnostic at £50 you are lucky.

You may have a broken lead, which leads to intermittent
engine performance and operation. I had this once, and
it was the devil's own job to diagnose. Change your fuses,
as a matter of course, which is cheap. Then 'chase' your
HT and LT through, looking for dodgy cable covering.
