Still trying for second opinion

Yes my lawyer is still working on getting a second opinion through W/C for me since I've had 3 surgeries. The major one being an ALIF replacing L4 L5 with titanium cages and a fusion. I am in major pain 24/7 and my neurosurgeron has no idea why. I'm taking some pretty heavy duty drugs and still in pain. I can't do anything. My lawyer says I'm totally disabled.

He had a malpractice lawyer look at my case and he took it on. There maybe something there or not. But my doctor wrote notes like patient is improving well, don't know why she is in pain (everytime I see him I tell him that I can't take this pain anymore, something has to be done) So he is out and out lying about me. My husband said he has to look good to the insurance company so thats why he says I'm doing well.

I am scheduled for epidural injections again, had them before surgery and didn't work, so we shall see, even PM doctor doesn't think they will help.

I am in more pain now that before surgery, I just want to go back to a normal life again. Even if I have a case its not going to take away the pain I suffer each and every day.

Hi Marie,
I hope the second opinion is approved quickly for you. At least the doctor did write in his notes that you were still in pain. It might even be to your advantage that he wrote he didn't know why. Some doctors leave stuff like that out altogether and just say she's progressing well. They make everything very vague so nothing can come back to haunt them. That's dishonest and unethical in my book. So at least he's documented for you that you do continue to have pain.

Hang in there, Marie. Let's keep our hopes up that a second opinion will make a difference and will get to the root of the problem for you.

Take care,
Emily
