advice but no change.? I posted this question last week. My newly re-built 2 stroke 250cc was running great till I left it for 9 weeks. When I tried to start it again I had nothing but trouble, having to eventually squirt some petrol down the plug hole to get the thing started, but then the trouble began- coughing & splattering. I took all your advice & cleaned out the carby, changed the fuel, cleaned the air filter and still not much change. Although it does start first or second kick now & revs well till it warms up, then the coughing starts. A lot of back firing too. It has only done about 100 km's at the most since I replaced all bearings, rings, piston, re-bore and carby kit. Why has it done this all of a sudden? And do I now need to rip the engine apart again? It still has heaps of compression.
