The doctors all think you will be up and running in a month, it is just rediculous. And they think you won't need pain meRAB for very long either, at least that was my experience.
I was told by my surgeon when I was 3 months out that the fact that I was still in horrible pain meant that I would be forever and there was nothing else he could do. I am 28 years old and refuse to accept that. I am now 8 months post op and with a new surgeon and getting ready to have 2 levels fused, a new level and the old one re done. I have halo's around my screws, which means there is void space where the screws are grinding against the bone. It is considered a failed fusion so he is going to attempt it again.
But, I was also told by the pain clinic doctors that you have to give a fusion a year to heal before you can make the decision that the pain is never going away. So who knows.
