Stiff gas pedal on 1993 toyota pu with 3.0L V6?

The gas pedal is very stiff to use. I'v narrowed it down to the throttle body and its the springs that help close it once its open. So my question is...is there a way to make the pedal less stiff, such as some way to reroute the cable or kit you can buy, or another way to use the springs.

--I'v already taken off one of the springs and it made it better, but the RPMs are a little slow to rebound back to idle speed.
