Just how long can you take steroid sprays for. When you a box it says "use no longer than 7 days" but my doc reckons ive got to take them every day. My nose is swollen inside and getting blocked ears all the time, but these sprays (ive tried beconase, nasonex noe flixonase) dont seem to be doing anything. Is it dangerous to take them every day?

under a doctors care it is fine. I use nasonex year round. There are times when i forget to use it or i'm not having issues but otherwise i use it daily

I've been using them daily under a doctor's care for 15 years. Be careful of the OTC ones. They should be followed as instructed on the box unless your doc says otherwise.

For me, the corabination of Flonase and Astelin have helped.

Are you using nasal saline sprays and rinses? They help as well.

Richard:

I'm curious - which spray are you using that says "use no longer than 7 days" - most steroid sprays take at least 10 - 14 days to reach their full effect so limiting their use to 7 days wouldn't make much sense.
